We then moved on up the E6, over the Breiddallen plateau over 400m in height, barren wilderness with lots of reindeer walking along the road. We stopped for a cuppa and parked behind a GB van! We spent an hour with a young couple from Barnsley. We moved on further taking a left up the RV 94 to Hammerfest, the most northerly town in the world. We spent the late afternoon visiting the Polar Bear Society’s exhibition and walked round the bay to the Struve Geodtic Arc. We also caught a glimpse of the white whale that has escaped from Russia and taken up residence in the harbour. Our Barnsley friends turned up too so a lovely evening was spent together chatting over a few expensive beers! Although it was midnight when we separated it looked just like mid afternoon.
